PIERROT ABSINTHE
Porcelain sign / enamel sign, heavy iron, finely lithographed and hand-coloured, F c. 1900, Ø 50 cm, R. Guéry, 13 Bould. De Belleville, a masterpiece of early French advertising, the Pierrot, who gave his name to this drink, leisurely stirs the sugar in the absinthe, parts of the motif had faded and were professionally recoloured, minor damage in the margins restored, I know of no second copy, it remains uniquely beautiful GERMAN DESCRIPTION:Emailschild, schweres Trägermaterial, fein lithographiert und handcoloriert, F um 1900, Ø 50 cm, R. Guéry, 13 Bould. De Belleville, ein Meisterwerk früher französischer Reklame, der Pierrot, der diesem Getränk seinen Namen gab, verrührt gemächlich den Zucker im Absinthe, Teile des Motives waren verblichen und wurden professionell nachcoloriert, kleinere Beschädigungen im Randbereich restauriert, bei Leibe ist mir kein zweites Exemplar bekannt, es bleibt einmalig schön
