Anton met Kolig there; He first appeared in public at an exhibition in Vienna in 1909 with Sebastian Isepp, Anton Faistauer, Egon Schiele and Albert Paris Gütersloh. In 1911, his work “Nudes in the Forest” aroused the anger of the heir to the throne, Franz Ferdinand, at an exhibition organized by the Hagenbund. In 1912 Wiegele received a scholarship to study in Paris. During the First World War he was taken prisoner by the French in the Sahara. In 1916 he was released to Switzerland.
