Singing bird automaton, 30sManufacturer "Karl Griesbaum". Heavy metal case, silver-plated, elaborately decorated in relief with music-making putti, birds as well as flowers and tendril. Rectangular shape, top centered oval bulbous lid, below hiding place for the bird. Built-in mechanical spring-loaded movement with whistles for chirping. When the trigger is pushed to the left, the top lid opens and a colorful feathered bird appears, it turns chirps and moves its head and wings. Black Forest, 1930s. Schweres Gehäuse aus Metall, versilbert, aufwendig im Relief verziert mit musizierenden Putten, Vögel sowie Blüten und Ranke. Rechteckige Form, mittig oben ovaler gebauchter Deckel, darunter Versteck für den Vogel. Eingebautes mechanisches Federzugwerk mit Pfeifen für das Zwitschern. Beim nach links Schieben des Auslösers öffnet sich der obere Deckel und ein bunt gefiederter Vogel erscheint, er dreht sich zwitschert und bewegt den Kopf und die Flügel. Schwarzwald, 30er Jahre. Gut funktionstüchtig, gepflegter Zustand. H. 4,5cm, B. 10cm, T. 6,5cm
