Heroic bronze of a warrior on the back of a galloping horse by Berthold Stölzer 1930s.representative expressive and detailed large bronze ( 47cm long, 46.5cm high and weighing about 21 kg! ) of a naked athlete on the back of a rearing horse. The muscular rider is reminiscent of an ancient Adonis, entirely in the zeitgeist of neoclassicism. Bronze with beautiful dark greenish patina, extremely good condition according to age (no damage or missing parts!) , inscribed on the bronze plinth with "Stölzer". Mounted on a flat marble base which has small blemishes. Berthold Stölzer ( * 1881 in Sömmerda/Thuringia † 1943 in Hanover ) is one of the few German sculptors who made it as an autodidact with his works in renowned museums and got state commissions. His works can be found, among others, in the National Gallery in Berlin (bronze figure "Vanitas"), the State Museum in Hanover (marble sculpture "sensuous girl") and at the gate of the famous Grotehaus. In addition, two bronze sculptures were on display at the Great German Art Exhibition in 1938. Der muskulöse Reiter erinnert ganz im Zeitgeiste des Neoklassizismus an einen antiken Adonis. Bronze mit wunderschöner dunkel-grünlicher Patina, altersgemäß extrem guter Zustand (keine Beschädigungen oder fehlende Teile!) , bezeichnet auf der Bronzeplinthe mit "Stölzer". Montiert auf einem flachen Marmorsockel welcher kleine Makel aufweist. Berthold Stölzer ( * 1881 in Sömmerda/Thüringen † 1943 in Hannover ) zählt zu den wenigen deutschen Bildhauern welcher es als Autodidakt mit seinen Werken in namhafte Museen geschafft hat und Staatsaufträge bekam. Seine Werke befinden sich unter anderem in der Berliner Nationalgalerie (Bronzefigur "Vanitas"), dem Landesmuseum Hannover (Marmorplastik "sinnendes Mädchen") und am Werktorportales des berühmten Grotehauses. Zusätzlich waren zwei Bronzeplastiken auf der großen Deutschen Kunstausstellung 1938 zu sehen. Provenienz: Süddeutsche Privatsammlung
