Athletic imposing male semi-nude of an archer by Schmotz around 1900.representative exceptional bronze (in the very rare total height of 61.5cm and weighing over 15kg!) of an archer on two-piece marble base. Rich in detail and finely worked. Bronze with dark patina, very good condition according to age (no damage or missing parts!), inscribed on the bronze plinth with. "Schmotz". Total h. 63cm, figure h. ca. 56cm. Weight 15,1kg. Sculptor Rudolf Schmotz (*1884 - 1965), born in Bohemia and working in Dresden, studied at the Technical School of Ceramics and Related Arts and Crafts in Teplice.
