Composition of aloe vera, an apple, bowl and tin, watercolour, monogrammed and dated on the upper right "MR (19)47" and signed and inscribed in lead on the mount lower right "Marianne W. Rohland, Leipzig", framed under mount and behind glass, mount cut-out approx. 39 x 26.5 cm. Artist's info: Germ. Painter and graphic artist (1897 Leipzig to 1980 Leipzig), from 1918 attended a private painting school in Leipzig and 1921-22 attended the school for painting and drawing of Moritz Heymann, until 1922 studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Munich under Richard Riemerschmid, returned to Leipzig, 1928-34 stage designer at the Old Theatre in Leipzig, after the National Socialists came to power worked as a teacher, member of the Reich Chamber of Fine Arts and the VBK of the GDR, the artistic estate is in the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig, source: Wikipedia.
