Each of them non-representational, woodcut on handmade paper, the printing blocks were made around 1925, later prints, each signed in lead "Thilo" below the image and one sheet numbered "217/60", one sheet with slight signs of age, image dimensions approx. 20 x 12.5 cm and 12.5 x 7.5 cm, sheet dimensions approx. 44.5 x 30 cm and 43 x 30.5 cm. Artist's info: Germ. Painter, graphic artist and sculptor (1900 Braunschweig to 1983 Königslutter), early enthusiasm for art, among others 1916 visit of the Sturm-Galerie with an exhibition of Franz Marc, artistically self-taught at first, 1918 with Rudolf Jahns and Johannes Molzahn foundation of the "Gesellschaft der Freunde junger Kunst" in Braunschweig, whose members include Lyonel Feininger and Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky supported the artist and designed the group's signet, 1918 friendship with art collector Otto Ralfs, 1919 and 1921 visits Heinrich Vogeler in Worpswede, from 1922 teacher training, from 1924 primary school teacher in Holzminden, Parallel to teaching, guest student at the Bauhaus in Weimar and Dessau with Paul Klee, Lyonel Feininger, László Moholy-Nagy, William Wauer and Lothar Schreyer, around 1926 member of the "Novembergruppe", 1926-32 regular participation in the "Große Berliner Kunstausstellung", 1927 solo exhibition in Herwarth Walden's "Sturm-Galerie" in Berlin, 1934 expelled from the Reichskammer der Bildenden Künste, 1933-45 ostracised as "degenerate" and banned from working as a teacher, 1943-45 war service and imprisonment, then teacher again, working in Königslutter, Source: Vollmer, Dressler and Internet.
