Self-portrait of the artist with cap, bright green earrings and red blouse, sitting in a recliner, little impasto painting with broader brushstroke in harmonious colourfulness, oil on canvas, 1920s, signed "Kumer-Kroell" at upper right, inscribed "Frau Kummer-Kroell" on the reverse of the stretcher as well as illegible damaged label, craquelures, somewhat retouched, small dent in the canvas at lower centre, somewhat in need of cleaning, framed, folding dimensions approx. 89 x 73,5 cm. Artist's info: German painter (1865 Kehl am Rhein to 1948 Munich), pupil of Paul Schultze-Naumburg, briefly pupil of Hermann Groeber, largely self-taught, from 1916 in Munich attended the exhibitions in the Glaspalast and in the Kunstverein, member of the Munich Artists' Association, in the Reichsverband Bildender Künstler Deutschlands, in the Munich Artists' Association and the Free Artists' Association Baden, active first in Strasbourg, from 1894 in Munich, Source: Thieme-Becker, Dressler and Internet.
