Artist's info: actually Wilhelm Friedrich Kuh, called himself after the maiden name of his mother Mathilde Owen "Wilhelm Kuh-Owen", German portrait, animal and landscape painter, watercolourist, illustrator and lithographer (1886 Berlin to 1967 Garmisch-Partenkirchen), lived in Rathenow near Berlin, first military career, studied from 1912 at the Munich Academy with Heinrich von Zügel, 1914-18 in the Bavarian army took part in WW1. World War I, last with the rank of captain, 1923-28 director of the Wredow School of Drawing in Brandenburg an der Havel, resident in Munich by 1930 at the latest, participation in World War II, last with the rank of colonel, member of the Reichsverband bildender Künstler Deutschlands and the Bayerland Section of the German Alpine Club, source: Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Dressler, Matrikel der Münchner Akademie, Ries and Wikipedia.
