Farmer's wife turning hay, etching with beautiful plate tone, signed in lead below the image on the right "Gleichen-Russwurm", monogrammed and dated in the plate on the lower left "G-R. (18)96", somewhat stained and dusty, dimensions of the image ca. 17 x 24,5 cm, dimensions of the sheet ca. 35 x 51 cm. Artist's info: actually Heinrich Ludwig von Gleichen-Rußwurm, German painter and graphic artist. Painter and graphic artist (1836 Greifenstein Castle in Bonnland/Lower Franconia until 1901 Weimar), 1865 after the early death of his wife he turned to painting, 1869 he was promoted by Grand Duke Carl Alexander of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach and moved to Weimar, Studies at the Grand Ducal School of Art with Max Schmidt and from 1871 with Theodor Hagen, 1876 stays in France and is influenced by the Barbizon School, on the advice of Albert Brendel he learns the etching technique, numerous study trips to France, Italy, Helgoland, Sources: Thieme-Becker, Wikipedia.
