Sequence of three engravings depicting hearing, smell and taste, titled below the depiction in the plate and text to the depiction, coloured copper engravings, partly silhouetted and elaborately backed with cloth, 1st half 18th century, each signed lower right in the plate "Mart. Engelbrecht exud. A.V.", lack of preservation, each framed behind glass, dimensions without lettering ca. 17,6 x 28 cm. Artist's info: Germ. Engraver and art publisher (1684 Augsburg to 1756 Augsburg), worked with his brother Christian (1672-1735) as ornamental and veduta engraver in Augsburg, about 1708 stay in Berlin, produced engravings after designs by Eosander von Göthe, among them two engravings from the porcelain cabinet of Charlottenburg Palace, his oeuvre comprises more than 3000 works, mostly city views, ornamental engravings, portraits, military and historical events as well as allegorical representations, Source: Thieme-Becker and Wikipedia.
