View of a rustic kitchen interior with an open fireplace and a young kitchen maid, desired by a young man, side-inverted reproduction of the painting "La Belle Cuisinière [Eng: The Beautiful Cook]" by Francois Boucher (1703-1770), painted before 1735 and today kept in the collection of the Cognacq-Jay Museum in Paris, reproduction copperplate engraving on laid paper, 18th century, print probably before the writing below the depiction, inscribed leaves of the motif identify the work as an engraving by Pierre Alexandre Aveline, on this Bénézit remarks "... He was a pupil of Jean-Baptiste de Poilly and was the most brilliant artist of his family, occupying a high place among the engravers of the 18th century. ... His reproductions ... are justly highly regarded. ...", somewhat stained and with light margins, framed behind glass and passepartour in a very beautiful classical wooden frame with squared corners and gold ornaments, passepartout approx. 43,5 x 35,5 cm. Artist info: also Pierre II. or Peter Aveline, French engraver, draughtsman, portrait painter and illustrator (ca. 1702 Paris to ca. 1760 Paris), son of the painter, engraver, draughtsman and physician Pierre Aveline the Elder (1679 to before 1722), pupil of Jean-Baptiste Poilly, 1737-42 member of the Paris academy, engraved after old masters but mainly after contemporaries like François Boucher and Watteau, frequented the Paris Salon, active in Paris, Source: Thieme-Becker, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", AKL, Bénézit, Müller-Singer, Nagler and Wikipedia.
