Letter of Frederick II, King of Prussia
called "The Great" of Prussia, from 31 May 1740 King of Prussia, from 1772 King of Prussia (1712 Berlin to 1786 Potsdam) to Lieutenant-General von Marwitz, "My dear General of the Infantry von Marwitz. After I have resolvieret [decided] to send the Möllendorf Regiment ... after the review has taken place and when the end of the war is over, to transfer it to Upper Silesia in such a way as you can see from the order issued in writing for this purpose ..., I hereby wish to make this known to you for your information and respect ...". "The addressee is probably Major General Heinrich Karl von der Marwitz (1680 Sellin to 1744 Breslau), from 1720 member of the Prussian Tobacco College of the Soldier King and from 1724 Chief of the Old Prussian Infantry Regiment "von Dönhoff" in Halberstadt, appointed Knight of the "Order of the Black Eagle" in 1739, given on 4 June 1743 in Berlin and signed by the King, condition on laid paper in good condition for age, dimensions 19 x 24 cm.
