Lancaster Delivery Flights AJ- T Signed by G L Johnson 617 Sqn Dambuster. 16 May 05 Trafalgar Square Postmark. The Dambusters Lancaster Delivery Flights AJ-T 16th May 1943. Sqn Ldr G L Johnson DFM Sgt G L Johnson took part in Operation Chastise as the bomb Aimer on Flt Lt Joe McCarthys Lancaster ED825/G AJ- T which attacked the Sorpe Dam. For his part in the Dam Raids he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal. After the dams raids participated in a further 19 missions during his time with No. 617 Squadron until April 1944.
