GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY
Porcelain sign / enamel sign, stenciled and lithographed, IRE circa 1930, 38 x 29 cm, "Chromo" Wolverhampton, a rare piece that served as a timetable in railway stations and ferry stations at the time. It is interesting that the routes through England and Wales were lithographed, whereas the Irish routes are hand-applied like fine veins, making the Irish island seem to pulsate. GERMAN DESCRIPTION:Emailschild, schabloniert und lithographiert, IRE um 1930, 38 x 29 cm, "Chromo" Wolverhampton, ein seltenes Stück, das seinerzeit als Fahrplan in Bahnhöfen und Fährstationen diente. Interessant ist, dass die Routen durch England und Wales lithographiert wurden, wohingegen die irischen Strecken wie feine Adern per Hand aufgetragen sind, wodurch die irische Insel zu pulsieren scheint.
