MARX LACKE
Porcelain sign / enamel sign, large variant, thickly stenciled, Mainz, St. Petersburg u. Vienna circa 1910, 64 x 98 cm, Frankfurter Emaillirwerke, Neu-Isenburg, an incredible fresh find from the attic of a Munich shop, still in good original condition, somewhat distorted, mounted on a wooden board for stability, gloss and colours in best condition, slight scratches, The dog puppy with a brush in its mouth can confidently be described as one of the most outstanding motifs of early German advertising art. I know of only two other restored examples in this large format, and it must have been decades ago that one of them was up for grabs at auction. GERMAN DESCRIPTION:Emailschild, große Variante, abgekantet, dick schabloniert, Mainz, St. Petersburg u.
