TURMAC CIGARETTES
Porcelain sign / enamel sign, beaded edge, stenciled and lithographed, BE 1931, 80 x 60 cm, Emaillerie Belge Brux. S.A., a rarity of Belgian cigarette advertising, the oval shape is reminiscent of advertisements by Laurens and Xanthia, here too tobacco from the Orient is advertised, I know of no better example, especially the image of the Persian mosque is very faded on the other two known signs, but in this piece in very good colour strength, also the shine couldn't be much better GERMAN DESCRIPTION:Emailschild, Sickenrand, schabloniert und lithographiert, BE 1931, 80 x 60 cm, Emaillerie Belge Brux. S.A., eine Rarität der belgischen Zigarettenreklame, die ovale Form erinnert an Reklamen von Laurens und Xanthia, auch hier wird für Tabak aus dem Orient geworben, mir ist kein besseres Exemplar bekannt, gerade die Abbildung der persischen Moschee ist auf den beiden anderen bekannten Schildern stark verblichen, bei diesem Stück aber in sehr guter Farbkraft, auch der Glanz könnte kaum besser sein
