ROBERTSON'S HIGHLAND POWDER DIP
Porcelain sign / enamel sign, convex, finely lithographed, GB c. 1910, 53 x 38 cm, a jewel and symbol of early British enamelling art, the white base enamel is boldly applied, making the sign extremely valuable and heavy, advertising a flea/lice powder to be dissolved in water - the sheep were soaked in it and deloused at the time as shown, slight traces of the old protective paper at the borders, otherwise immaculate except for a small damage at the upper left corner GERMAN DESCRIPTION:Emailschild, gewölbt, fein lithographiert, GB um 1910, 53 x 38 cm, ein Schmuckstück und Sinnbild früher britischer Emaillierkunst, das weiße Grundemaille ist fett aufgetragen, das Schild dadurch äußerst wertig und schwer, beworben wird hier ein in Wasser zu lösendes Floh-/Läusepuder - die Schafe wurden seinerzeit wie dargestellt darin getränkt und entlaust, an den Rändern leichte Spuren des alten Schutzpapieres, ansonsten bis auf eine kleine Beschädigung an der oberen linken Ecke makellos
