The Austrian artist Maximilian “Max” Snischek studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts under Rosalia Rothansl from 1912 to 1914. In 1915 he exhibited in the fashion exhibition at the Austrian Museum of Art and Industry. In 1922 he took over the management of the fashion department of the Wiener Werkstätte from Eduard Josef Wimmer-Wisgrill and, together with Maria Likarz, designed the models for fabrics and clothing. In addition to textile work, his work at the Wiener Werkstätte included jewelry, wallpaper and commercial graphics. He was a member of the Austrian Werkbund, participating, among other things. at the fashion exhibition in 1915, art show in 1920, Paris 1925. At the beginning of 1932 the artist went to Munich, where he taught figure drawing at the master school for fashion.
