The Austrian-French artist Gottfried Salzmann (charcoal drawings, watercolors, prints, photo overpaintings) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts with Sergius Pauser and Max Melcher and from 1965 at the ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaus-Arts. First exhibitions in 1968 in Linz and Vienna, from 1969 in the Welz Gallery in Salzburg. In 1971 he finally moved to Paris. Salzmann ties to the veduta painting of the 19th century and has developed the photo overpainting to his technique of "Photeauforte". Extensive collections of works in the Salzburg Museum and the Albertina in Vienna.
