As a painter, the Austrian artist Richard Lux mostly created landscapes and portraits as a painter; as an etcher, landscapes, vedute and bookplates. 1894/1895, attended Anton Brenek’s sculpture school, 1897 – 1906 painting studies at the Vienna Academy with Christian Griepenkerl, Alois Delug and since 1992 in the etching class with William Unger. Participation in exhibitions e.g. 1910 Grosse Berliner Kunstausstellung, 1911 International Art Exhibition in Rome, collectives in 1910 at the Heller Art Salon and in 1917 at Halm & Goldmann, both in Vienna. 1904 represented for the first time in the Hagenbund, 1907 – 1909 member of the Hagenbund, also member of the Albrecht-Duerer-Bund in Vienna and the Vienna Kuenstlerhaus. Works at Albertina, Wien Museum, Berliner Kupferstichkabinett. Honours, prizes: 1906 Imperial subsidy and Rome scholarship (Academy); 1925 silver medal of the Albrecht-Duerer-Bund (Albrecht Duerer Association).
