The German-Austrian artist (Austrian from 1947) Herbert Breiter registered for the entrance examination at the Dresden Art Academy in 1944, but was drafted into the Wehrmacht. After the war, the autodidact kept his head above water with arts and crafts orders in Salzburg. Breiter was a private student of Max Peiffer Watenphul. The painter Agnes Muthspiel, whom he met through Peiffer Watenphul, became his partner; Breiter became friends with Gottfried von Einem and the set designer Caspar Neher. Active exhibition and travel activities. In Italy and Greece, landscape paintings in watercolor and oil as well as extensive lithography cycles were created. One of his students was Eliette von Karajan. Breiter was a member of the artists' group "Salzburger Gruppe" and the Salzburger Kunstverein. The art historian Hans Vollmer described his still lifes in 1961 as "in the character of the 17th century Dutch artists" (Willem van Aelst, Jan Asselijn, Gerrrit A. Berckheyde, Abraham van Beyeren, Leohard Bramer, Pieter Codde, Dirk van Deelen, Gerard Dou, Karel Dujardin, Allaert van Everdingen, Barent Fabritius, Aert de Gelder, Jan Davidsz de Heem, Jan van Goyen, Nicolaes Maes, Aart van der Neer, Reinier Nooms, Adrian van Ostade, Paulus Potter, Rembrandt, Salomon van Ruysdael, Jacob I. Ruisdael, Godfried Schalcken, Simon de Vlieger, Hendrick van Vliet, Emmanuel de Witte, Jan Weenix).

In the case of normal taxation (marked °), a premium of 24% is added to the highest bid. The mandatory sales tax of 13%, for photographys 20%, is added to the sum of the highest bid and the buyer's premium. The buyer's premium amounts to 28% in case of differential taxation. The sales tax is included in the differential taxation.
