The Austrian artist Alois Leopold Seibold was largely self-taught. However, he was a private student of the etcher and engraver Viktor Jasper in Vienna. In 1909 he was represented for the first time in a Hagenbund exhibition; From 1912 to 1924, he was a member. In 1922, Paul Neff Verlag, Esslingen, published “Die Radierung – Ein Leitfaden und Ratgeber von Professor Alois Leopold Seibold Maler und Radierer in Wien“ (The Etching - A Guidebook by Professor Alois Leopold Seibold Painter and Etcher in Vienna). From 1925 to 1939, he was a member of the Vienna Secession and from 1940 at the Vienna Kuenstlerhaus. His oeuvre mainly includes landscapes and sacred themes.
