The French painter Evelyn Marc (evelyn Marc, Eveline Marc, Evelyne Marc) was the daughter of the painter couple Willy Eisenschitz and Claire Bertrand-Eisenschitz and the mother of the painter and sculptor Delie Duparc (Estelle Delvolve). The photographer David Eisenschitz was her brother, and on her mother's side she was related to the mathematicians Marcel Alexandre Bertrand and Joseph Bertrand. Marc spent the years 1935/36 studying art in the USA. There she became enthusiastic about landscape painting. She then settled in Paris and continued her education at various private academies. Influenced by Wassily Kandinsky, Marc switched to abstract art. She did her first exhibitions with her parents, but in 1949 the Salon des realites nouvelles offered her the opportunity for her first solo exhibition. In 1953 she was able to surpass this success. In 1948, while preparing her first solo exhibition, Marc met the journalist and philosopher Michael Koch (1913–2005). The couple married the following year. In 1951 she took part in a tribute to František Kupa's 80th birthday together with Jean Christian Neuberth, Henri Goetz (Harry Bernard Goetz) and Christine Bourmeester. In 1954 Marc was one of the co-founders of the Salon Comparaisons.
