Öl auf einer Holzplatte, in einem mit Goldfarbe bemalten Holzrahmen gerahmt. SeDarstellung eines alten Mannes mit Bart, im verlorenen Profil, das Gesicht vom Betrachter abgewendet, vor einem dunklen Hintergrund. Plakette unten am Rahmen: Wilhelm Leibl 1844-1900. Rückseitig bezeichnet mit Inventarnummer, Maler und der Bezeichnung "Alter Mann" sowie weiterem Text. Maße Rahmen ca. 42 x 50 cm. Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren, Krakeleebildung. Wilhelm Maria Hubertus Leibl (* 23. Oktober 1844 in Köln; † 4. Dezember 1900 in Würzburg) war als Maler ein bedeutender Vertreter des Realismus in Deutschland. Er war Schüler von H. Becker und versammelte 1870 in München gleichgesinnte Maler, den Leibl-Kreis, um sich (Wilhelm Trübner, Carl Schuch, Theodor Alt, Karl Haider, zeitweilig auch Hans Thoma).

Oil on a wooden panel, framed in a wooden frame painted with gold paint. Depiction of an old man with beard, in lost profile, face turned away from the viewer, against a dark background. Plaque at the bottom of the frame: Wilhelm Leibl 1844-1900. Inscribed on the reverse with inventory number, painter and the designation "Old Man" and other text. Dimensions frame ca. 42 x 50 cm. Signs of age and wear, craquelure. Wilhelm Maria Hubertus Leibl (* 23 October 1844 in Cologne; † 4 December 1900 in Würzburg) was as a painter an important representative of realism in Germany. He was a student of H. Becker and gathered in 1870 in Munich like-minded painters, the Leibl circle, around him (Wilhelm Trübner, Carl Schuch, Theodor Alt, Karl Haider, temporarily also Hans Thoma).
