Muscular male nude of Hercules at the moment when he catches the Kerynite hind, imposing large bronze group.Hercules and the Kerynite hind, very large golden brown patinated bronze group after the ancient original in the Museum of Palermo. Mounted on an oval marble plinth (somewhat loose), circa 1900. Hercules was to bring the Kerynite hind to Mycenae as part of his ultimately twelve works for Eurystheus. Since the hind was sacred, he was not allowed to kill it, but had to catch it alive. H. 65cm, W 73cm. Auf ovaler Marmorplinthe montiert (etwas locker), um 1900. Herkules sollte die kerynitische Hirschkuh im Rahmen seiner letztlich zwölf Arbeiten für Eurystheus nach Mykene bringen. Da die Hirschkuh heilig war, durfte er sie nicht töten, sondern musste sie lebend fangen. H. 65cm, B 73cm. Gewicht 53,2kg
