Albert Figal (1889-1954, Munich) - Christ on the Mount of Olives, 1925
Member of the artist group "die Burg". Trained as a glass painter in the court glass painting of Franz Xaver Zettler. Creator of the Christophorus window in the Munich Frauenkirche (destroyed in the war).
Fine watercolor sketch on paper, as a study for a larger painting. Abstracted depiction of Christ praying in dark landscape. Glued to cardboard, artist's name, title and date there. Image dimensions H. 12,5cm, w. 10cm. Bequest from the private collection of Pastor Albert Pfeffer (1873 - 1937), Lautlingen.

Mitglied der Künstlergruppe "die Burg". Ausbildung als Glasmaler in der Hofglasmalerei von Franz Xaver Zettler. Erschaffer des Christophorus-Fenster in der Münchener Frauenkirche (im Krieg zerstört).
Feine Aquarellskizze auf Papier, als Studie für ein größeres Gemälde. Abstrahierte Darstellung des betenden Christus in dunkler Landschaft. Auf Karton geklebt, dort Künstlerbezeichnung, Titel und Datum. Bildmaße H. 12,5cm, B. 10cm. Nachlass aus Privatsammlung Pfarrer Albert Pfeffer (1873 - 1937), Lautlingen.
