PORCELAIN BASKET WITH SEASONAL MASCARONS.
Meissen.
Date: 18th century.
Technique: Porcelain, painted golden and in colours.
Description: Basket with handles, the exterior with basket weave relief and the narrow sides with
handles. On each handle a mascaron with a headdress corresponding to the seasons: spring
with blossoms, summer with ears of corn, autumn with grape vines and winter with leafless
branches. On the inside, scattered flowers and four round gold cartouches on the sides. In
the bowl a large gold cartouche and floral painting inside.
Measurement: 10,5x26,5x18,5cm.
Mark: Swords mark, painted blue under glaze. Porcelain former's mark 'T2'.
