LARGE POTOURRI-VASE WITH APPLIED BLOSSOMS AND GALLANTERY.

Maker/Designer: Model J. J. Kaendler, 1760.
Technique: Porcelain, painted in colours.
Description: The form at the bulge receeded once and with mounted foot. At the sides two tendril-like
handles that themselves are adorned with tendrils and blossoms. The lit with open work and
sitting on a rich bouquet of flowers. On the foot and below the handle adorned with
figures, once depicting a putto who is decorating the vase with flowers and a woman who is
putting a basket of flowers at the feet of the vase. On the obverses scenes from Watteau
in a park landscape and opposed painting of flowers. All around the paintings opulent
fruit and clossom decorations, on the sides with minor flower paintings and the base with
Rocaille adornments.
Measurement: Height bottom 37cm, height top 27cm.
Mark: Swordsmark, painted blue under glaze.
