Count Anton von Munnich (1748-1810) - rittmeister, grandson of Field Marshal Christopher Antonovich von Minich, a prominent state dignitary during the reign of Empress Anna Ioannovna. Painter Vasily Andreyevich Tropinin (1776-1857) was born in the village of Karpovo, Novgorod Province, which also belonged to von Minich.
