studied at the Academy of Arts in Stuttgart, was a student of Robert Poetzelberger, Christian Landenberger and Adolf Hölzel, temporarily resided in Düsseldorf. He left his mark, among others, in expressionist churches of the architect Otto Linder, as well as several murals and Stations of the Cross in newly built Catholic churches of the 1920s.
Expressionist painting - reverse glass painting, depicting the sweat cloth of Christ in expressive colors. Label with artist's name on the back. Early-mid 20th c. Good condition. Framed. Overall dimensions H. 30cm, w. 23,5cm. Estate from private collection Pastor Albert Pfeffer (1873 - 1937), Lautlingen.
Alois Schenk (1888 - 1949, Schwäbisch Gmünd) - Schweißtuch Christi, Hinterglasmalerei
studierte an der Akademie der Künste in Stuttgart, war Schüler von Robert Poetzelberger, Christian Landenberger und Adolf Hölzel, zeitweise Aufenthalt in Düsseldorf. Er hinterließ seine Spuren u.a. in expressionistischen Kirchen des Architekten Otto Linder, sowie mehrere Wandgemälde und Kreuzwegstationen in neu erbauten katholische Kirchen der 1920er Jahre.
Expressionistisches Gemälde - Hinterglasmalerei, Darstellung des Schweißtuchs Christi in ausdrucksstarken Farben. Rückseitig Aufkleber mit Künstlerbezeichnung. Anfang-Mitte 20. Jh. Guter Zustand. Gerahmt. Gesamtmaße H. 30cm, B. 23,5cm. Nachlass aus Privatsammlung Pfarrer Albert Pfeffer (1873 - 1937), Lautlingen.
