A FINE ICON SHOWING ST. NICHOLAS OF MYRA Russian, circa 1600 Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. Portrayed bust-length, rendered in the traditional manner. His facial features finely executed with dark colours. His hair defined by delicate white brushstrokes. He is wearing the Bishop’s omophorion with black crosses. His garments coloured in orange with dense golden brushstrokes. Partially restored. 27.6 x 21.8 cm.
