After 34 successful auctions with countless world record prices for cameras, I handed the camera auctions over to a group, also to concentrate on the WestLicht Photo and Camera Museum, the OstLicht Photo Gallery and the OstLicht Photo Auctions. However, when I was recently offered a private lover's fantastic collection, I couldn't resist the temptation. Especially since this man acquired most of the pieces he collected from me over the course of many years and always attached great importance to perfect condition and originality. Luise Aubert Magic Lantern 'La Lecon de Choses'

The lantern is decorated with children dressed in 18th century costumes surrounding their teacher. The French magic lantern and slide manufacturer and metalworker Louis Aubert took over the business of a colleague metal worker when he opened a shop in Paris, around 1842. Aubert became one of the most celebrated makers of toy lanterns, being highly skilled in forming moulded tinplate lanterns decorated with a translucent spirit-based lacquer. Very rare and in original condition, burner not included.
