After 34 successful auctions with countless world record prices for cameras, I handed the camera auctions over to a group, also to concentrate on the WestLicht Photo and Camera Museum, the OstLicht Photo Gallery and the OstLicht Photo Auctions. However, when I was recently offered a private lover's fantastic collection, I couldn't resist the temptation. Especially since this man acquired most of the pieces he collected from me over the course of many years and always attached great importance to perfect condition and originality. In 1956 the Swedish Army received 100 black paint IIIf cameras (nos. 822901–823000) made by special order with a black Elmar 3.5/5cm. This unique series of black IIIf cameras were winterised to enable them to function in Artic conditions. The offered camera no.822993 comes with black Elmar 3.5/5cm no.1427152, cap, original brown ever-ready case stamped with three crowns. The camera, lens and case are in almost mint, original and perfect working condition, it is for sure the IIIf black in the best possible unrestored condition you can get. The IIIf black is not only one of the top collectors items, but also one of the most attractive military Leica's ever!
