After 34 successful auctions with countless world record prices for cameras, I handed the camera auctions over to a group, also to concentrate on the WestLicht Photo and Camera Museum, the OstLicht Photo Gallery and the OstLicht Photo Auctions. However, when I was recently offered a private lover's fantastic collection, I couldn't resist the temptation. Especially since this man acquired most of the pieces he collected from me over the course of many years and always attached great importance to perfect condition and originality. The early version of the Leica I with Elmax lens is identical to the camera with Anastigmat lens - the offered camera is in original condition with all the early features. It has the 6-speed shutter speed dial, flat eyepiece viewfinder, datum line on lens tupe, low profile wind knobs, coarse grained vulcanite, mushroom release, short black advanced rewind lever, film advance knob engraved 0-40, very first version base plate, five element Elmax lens and most important the ratcheted film transport. The camera is in good working condition with the original paint, it comes with the rare unmarked early lens cap. It is very hard to find this camera in original condition as most of these were updated by Leitz with new parts.

Die frühe Version der Leica I mit Elmax-Objektiv ist technisch identisch mit der Kamera mit Anastigmat Objektiv - die angebotene Kamera ist im Originalzustand mit allen frühen Merkmalen. Sie verfügt über den 6-Zeiten Verschluss, Okularsucher mit flachem Einblick, die Datumlinie auf dem Objektivtubus, flache Spulenknöpfe, grobkörniges frühes Vulkanit, dem Pilzauslöser, einen kurzen schwarzen Rückspulhebel, der Filmtransportknopf mit der Gravur 0-40, die frühe Bodenplatte der allerersten Version, ein fünflinsiges Elmax-Objektiv und vor allem der 'ratcheted' Filmtransport. Die Kamera ist in gutem Zustand mit der Originallackierung, sie kommt mit dem seltenen, unmarkierten frühen Objektivdeckel. Es ist sehr schwer, diese Kamera im Originalzustand zu finden, da die meisten von Leitz bei Reparaturen oder Service modernisiert wurden.
