FORTEPIANO SIGNED „C. GRAF“, PROBABLY VIENNA 1820-1830
The fortepiano is signed "Conrad Graf". This signature is inauthentic and does not match any of the signatures of C. Graf known at this time. The complete construction of the grand piano does not speak for Graf's workshop either (shape, veneer (ash), construction method, type of pedal transmission, which is partly no longer present).
The pedalboard, which houses the 6 pedals, is not present. The beautifully ornate lyre is present. The piano has a Viennese action and a Viennese damping system. The keyboard (CC-f4) has a 3-octave-span of 47.8cm. The hammers are covered with leather. The grand piano has a split bridge (CC-E and F-f4).
Dimensions of the instrument:
Length: 2359mm
Width: 1360mm
Total height: 915mm
Body height: 347mm
