Jh., innen Ritzsignatur Garg., Terrakotta, Rezeption eines auf 79 vor Christi Geburt datierten Originals, das heute im Archäologischen Nationalmuseum von Neapel aufbewahrt wird, auf naturalistisch gestalteter Felsenplinthe sitzende Aktdarstellung des jungen Merkur/Hermes, einen Arm auf sein angewinkeltes Bein aufgestützt, das andere zur Rast ausgestreckt, die Füße mit geflügelten Sandalen, typische Grand Tour-Trophäe, Zehen des ausgestreckten Fußes bestoßen, H 23 cm.

Early 19th century, incised signature Garg. inside, terracotta, reception of an original dated to 79 BC, now preserved in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, a nude depiction of the young Mercury/Hermes seated on a naturalistic rock plinth, one arm resting on his bent leg, the other stretched out to rest, the feet with winged sandals, typical Grand Tour trophy, toes of the outstretched foot bumped, h 23 cm.
