nächtliche Szenerie mit gekonnt gesetzten Hommagen in prachtvoller Farbigkeit; die Komposition macht verschiedene Anleihen, hinsichtlich der menschlichen Figurationen eher bei ungarischen Malern der Moderne wie Hugó Scheiber oder Béla Kádár, die dynamisch gesetzten, abstrahierten Tierfiguren erinnern dagegen an deutsche Expressionisten der ersten Generation wie Franz Marc oder August Macke, in der Setzung der nächtlichen Stimmung auch etwas an Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, Wechsel zwischen stark pastosem bis hin zu lasierendem Farbauftrag, Konturen bisweilen in Ritztechnik ausgeführt, Öl auf Leinen/Malkarton, Mitte 20. Jh., rückseitig auf Etikett künstlerbezeichnet sowie Etikett zum Malgrund, auf der Rückseite links unten zudem Annotation zu ehemaligem Verkaufspreis ("440"), winzige Farbfehlstellen am rechten mittleren Bildrand sowie optisch vernachlässigbarer Frühschwundriss in den erdigen Farbtönen, gerahmt, Falzmaße ca. 50 x 60 cm. Künstlerinfo: schweizerischer Maler, Graphiker und Cartoonist (1917 Schaffhausen bis ?).

Nocturnal scenery with skilfully placed homages in splendid colours; the composition borrows in various ways from Hungarian modernist painters such as Hugó Scheiber or Béla Kádár with regard to the human figurations, while the dynamically placed, abstracted animal figures are reminiscent of first-generation German Expressionists such as Franz Marc or August Macke, and in the setting of the nocturnal mood also somewhat reminiscent of Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, alternating between strongly impasto and glazed colour application, contours sometimes executed in incised technique, oil on linen/painting cardboard, mid-20th cent. Century, artist's inscription and label to the painting ground on the reverse, annotation to the former sale price ("440") on the reverse lower left, tiny colour defects to the right central edge of the painting as well as a visually negligible early shrinkage tear in the earthy tones, framed, folded dimensions approx. 50 x 60 cm.
