in einer bäuerlichen, wohl alpenländischen Stube hat ein Familienvater in Uniform, gerade von der Front kommend, Platz genommen, das kleine Töchterchen an den Knien, die neben ihm sitzende Ehefrau seine Hand haltend, berichtet er den im Halbkreis versammelten restlichen Familienmitgliedern von seinen Fronterlebnissen, ein eindrucksvolles Zeugnis, wie der 1. Weltkrieg langsam auch an die idyllische "Heimatfront" dringt, während die Tochter des Hauses in der Stubenecke noch mit Bügeln befasst ist, feine, gleichwohl spätere Genremalerei im Stil Emil Raus, Öl auf künstlich gealtertem Schichtholz, Mitte 20. Jh., links unten signiert "R. Kuenzel", geringe Abplatzungen im Randbereich sowie großflächige Retuschen, Falzmaße ca. 30,5 x 40 cm.

In a rustic, probably alpine parlour, a family father in uniform, just back from the front, has taken a seat, his little daughter on his knee, his wife sitting next to him holding his hand, he tells the other family members gathered in a semi-circle about his experiences on the front, an impressive testimony to how the First World War is slowly reaching the idyllic "home front", while the daughter of the house is still busy ironing in the corner of the parlour.
