20. Jh., verso Gießerstempel F. Barbedienne Fondeur sowie Stempel Reduction Mechanique, Bronze bräunlich patiniert, Rezeption der hadrianische Kopie nach der Aphrodite von Knidos, verkleinerte Version der seit der Auffindung unter anderem lange Zeit in der Barberini-Sammlung befindlichen Skulptur, die einige Restaurierungen aus dem 18. Jh. aufweist und bei Christie´s in London schon einmal für 8 Millionen Pfund versteigert wurde, mit einem Delfin und zwei Engelchen auf geschweifter Plinthe stehend, leichte Altersspuren, H 32 cm. Antique reception Venus Barberini
20th cent, foundry mark F. Barbedienne Fondeur and Reduction Mechanique stamp on the reverse, bronze with brownish patina, reception of the Hadrianic copy after Aphrodite of Knidos, reduced version of the sculpture, which has been in the Barberini collection for a long time since its discovery, with some restorations from the 18th century. It was auctioned at Christie's in London for 8 million pounds, with a dolphin and two angels standing on a curved plinth, slight signs of age, h 32 cm. Source: Wikipedia England.
