Depiction of a drunken gentleman with moustache and hat, his waistcoat slipped and a bottle in his pocket, portrait painting captured in rich detail, oil on wood panel, signed in red lower left, circa 1950, good condition, in modern red-gold quiet, folding dimensions 29 x 24.5 cm. Artist info: Konstantin Szewczenko was born in Warsaw in 1910, was a painter and studied in the studio of Felicjan Kowarski and Tadeusz Pruszkowski at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1928-32, painted mainly easel pictures, genre scenes and portraits, in 1934-35 Szewczenko designed the stage set of the Rozmaitosci Theatre, cooperated with the publishing house "Atlas" in Lviv and published illustrations in "Kurier Poranny", authored portraits of Ignacy Moscicki, Edward Rydz-Smigly and created a series entitled "Polish Regional Types" and "Semitic Types", exhibited in Poland and abroad, his works are in the collection of the Polish Army Museum.
