Historical view of the pilgrimage chapel "Maria Eich" near Munich behind autumnal colourful deciduous trees, impasto painting with broad brushstroke, oil on cardboard, titled and dated on the reverse "Herbst (Kapelle Maria Aich [sic.] b. Planegg 1928)" and estate stamp "J. Rolf Knobloch München - Ausgewählter Nachlaß - Therese Knobloch", paint cardboard slightly bent, somewhat in need of cleaning, framed in a beautiful gold stucco frame, folding dimensions approx. 31 x 40.5 cm. Artist's info: Germ. Landscape painter and writer (1891 Bohemian Kamnitz [Ceská Kamenice] until 1964 Munich), pupil of the art school Liebwerda, studied at the Technical University Munich from 1911, here he finally turned to painting, as an artist largely self-taught, influenced by the open-air painters Eduard Schleich the Elder and Adolf Lier, Impressionism and the School of Barbizon, then freelance in Munich, from 1915 he was responsible for the exhibitions in the Glaspalast, member and for many years first president of the Munich Artists' Association "Münchner Künstlerverein".
