Light-flooded view over meadows, on houses surrounded by trees in front of mountain ranges, under loosely clouded sky, impasto landscape painting in bright, friendly colours, around 1960, signed lower left "A. G. D. Nerlich", minor losses in the fold area, canvas somewhat wavy and in need of cleaning, framed, fold dimensions approx. 61 x 81 cm. Artist info: Germ. Graphic artist, painter of architecture, still life and landscape (1892 Oppeln to 1982 Dresden), studied 1912-17 at the academy in Breslau under Hans Poelzig, Markus van Gosen, Karl Hanusch, Fryderyk Pautsch, Max Wislicenus, Oskar Moll and Bernhard Pankok, undertook study trips to Tyrol, Member of the Artists' Association of Silesia and the German Werkbund, freelance and as an art teacher in Katowice, Opole and Breslau, 1937-45 defamed as "degenerate", from 1946 initially freelance in Dresden, 1948-56 Prof. at the Technical University of Dresden, from 1952 Prof. at the Technical University of Dresden. at the TH Dresden, from 1952 member of the Verband Bildender Künstler (VBK) of the GDR, later resident in Dresden-Loschwitz, Source: Thieme-Becker, Vollmer, Dressler, Eisold "Künstler in der DDR" and Wikipedia.
