Fishermen on a summery-sunny beach repairing their nets, study-like, flottishly captured, impasto painting with broad brushstroke, oil on cardboard, c. 1960, unsigned, according to previous owner's statement painting by Rolf Andiel, plainly framed, folding dimensions c. 33.5 x 42 cm. Artist info: Germ. Painter and graphic artist (1927 Plauen until 1992 Plauen), apprenticeship as designer, studied 1942-44 at the Staatliche Meisterschule für Textilindustrie (art school) Plauen, 1950-53 worked as poster and decoration painter, studied 1953-58 at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste (HBK) Dresden under Erich Fraaß and Rudolf Bergander, then freelance in Plauen, from 1959 member of the Association of Visual Artists (VBK) of the GDR, from 1960 circle leader and company contract with Plamag Plauen, attended numerous exhibitions, including the art exhibitions of the GDR, 1990 founding member of the Plauen Art Association, active in Plauen, Source: Frank Weiß "Malerei im Vogtland", Eisold "Künstler in der DDR", AKL, Wikipedia and Internet.
