Multicoloured, non-figurative composition, colour lithograph, 1958, signed below the image in biros on the right "Rolf Cavael", titled in the centre "Lithofa 21" and numbered on the left "105/62", in the image on the lower right ligatured monogram "CA", somewhat light-margined and minimally stained, framed under mount and behind glass, mount cut-out approx. 54 x 38 cm. Artist's info: German painter, draughtsman a. graphic artist (1898 Königsberg/Prussia until 1979 Munich), studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, here teacher for applied graphics and writing, 1931 encounter with Kandinsky and transition to non-objective painting, 1933 first personal exhibition, still closed on the opening day, 1933-45 painting ban and temporarily imprisoned in Dachau concentration camp, after 1945 founder and member of the artist group "Zen 49", active in Berlin and Garmisch, source: Internet and Vollmer.
