Around 1900, inscribed, stucco coloured, depicting Bacchus as a satyr, with Ariadne as a nude, next to grapes, vine leaves, pan flute and thyrsos staff, plinth as an oval column, in front with putto as a relief in a wreath of vine leaves, restored several times, h 38 cm. Artist's info: actually Claude Michel "Clodion", French sculptor (1738 Nancy to 1814 Paris), studied with his uncle Lambert Sigisbert Adam and with Jean-Baptiste Pigalle, received the "Grand Prix de Sculpture" and worked among others in Rome for the Duke de La Rochefoucauld, for Catherine II as well as for the French King Louis XVI, source: Internet.
