summer landscape with flowering meadows, gnarled trees and blue sky, impasto painting with lively brushwork, oil on canvas and stretcher, 1st half 20th c., signed lower right "H. Seck-Carton", canvas a little bit dented, stretcher frame shows a little bit, small loss of painting layer upper left, on the reverse another landscape painting, signed lower right "H. Seck-Car...", unframed, dimensions approx. 50.5 x 50.5 cm. Artist's info: German church painter, graphic artist a. work artist (1888 Flörsheim to 1972 Finthen b. Mainz), studied as graphic artist from 1908 at the Mainzer Kunstgewerbeschule, as painter largely self-taught, member of the Reichsverband Bildender Künstler Deutschlands, in the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Christliche Kunst Munich and in the Vereinigung Mainzer Künstler, active in Mainz and Finthen, source: Thieme-Becker, Vollmer, Dressler and Internet.
