Wilhelm Mosblech the Younger, Hamburg Harbour
Morning view over the Elbe in Hamburg Harbour with sailing and steam ships as well as pilot boats in front of the imposing silhouette of Kaiserspeicher A, built in 1875, which is now covered by the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, impasto painting with broad brushstroke with partially visible painting ground, oil on hardboard, probably 1st half 20th cent, signed lower left "W. Mosblech", scratches, unframed, dimensions approx. 70 x 100 cm. Artist info: German still life, landscape and marine painter (mentioned until 1944), member of the Reichskammer der Bildenden Künste, active in Düsseldorf, source: Internet and info on original artist's label on the reverse of the painting.
