Portrait of an elderly lady with a large hat adorned with colourful flowers, looking kindly at the viewer, little impasto, portrait painting mostly done with a broad, loose brushstroke, oil on canvas, beginning of the 20th century, signed lower right "Ad. Maennchen.", inscribed on the reverse "Maler-Professor Adolf Maennchen ... Bildnis: Frau Kraeger, Bremen gemalt 1917.", some loss of paint layer, possibly partially overpainted in the background, somewhat in need of cleaning, framed, folding dimensions approx. 80 x 68 cm.
