Vasile Baboie, Flowers in Vase
Gorgeous bouquet with yellow flowers in brown earthen vase, on a table in front of a dark red background, impasto flower painting of powerful colourfulness, oil on hardboard, upper left ligatured monogram "BV" and dated "1966", inscribed and dated on the reverse "Vasile Baboie Bulbori 1966" and dedicated "Lui Ady si Aurel" (For Ady and Aurel) and monogrammed again, some craquelure, framed behind glass, visible dimensions approx. 63 x 48 cm. Artist's info: Romanian physician and painter (1914 Brascov to 2001), studied medicine in Bucharest, also worked as a painter, source: Internet.
